Clinics and services
The practice will provide essential services to its patients.
These are defined as:
The practice will also provide continuous holistic treatment and care for all registered patients.
In addition the practice will provide:
Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) provides help and support for people over 18 years (who are registered with a GP in Surrey) who are experiencing mild to moderate mental ill-health. This can include stress, low mood, anxiety, panic attacks, depression (including pre and post natal), obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, post traumatic stress and eating difficulties (not severe).
There is a choice of providers available in your area, that you can refer yourself to without having to go via your GP. These are listed below. They offer people a realistic and routine first-line treatment combined, where appropriate, with medication. IAPT services usually aim to contact patients within 3 days of referral, assess within 10 day and start treatment within 28 days but each will have its own guidance
IAPT providers offer a range of treatments including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (also computerised), workshops/courses (e.g. managing emotions, worries, depression), group therapy, guided self help material, individual therapy, book recommendations and employment advice through partner agencies.
We now have hypertension clinics run by our pharmacist (in addition to the existing clinic run by one of our practice nurses). If you are due a hypertension review then please arrange a blood test and then book into our clinic a week later. Our appointments are web bookable. If you are not sure if you are due a check, then please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or message us via Patient Access.
We will be expanding the range of clinics our pharmacist offers, which will include medication reviews.
From 23rd September 2019 we will be offering nurse family planning/contraception clinics on Mondays and Wednesdays. This will include contraception advice, cervical cytology and if needed referral for termination.
Please make sure of the following -
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. We have limited availability of appointments in the travel clinic so an appointment should be made six to eight weeks before your date of travel. The nurse will discuss which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. Please note that payment for travel vaccines is required in advance.
If you are unable to make an appointment with us there are other providers who can help you such as Superdrug, Boots, Direct Pharmacy and the Global Health Travel Clinic.
Information about countries and vaccinations required can be found on the links below:
It is important to make the initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Travel Health Questionnaire
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form before coming to see the nurse.
