Online access update

Don't forget to request your medication and book your appointments online. We now offer web bookable appointments for blood tests (phlebotomy), INR (warfarin monitoring), smears (well woman clinics) and hypertension reviews. These should be booked only when a doctor or nurse has requested you have one of these tests or if your smear is due. 

You are now also able to message your GP via this service. This can be used for simple queries, such as a medication query, checking if you need a blood test/review, results query.

New members of staff

We now have a paramedic practitioner, Jo Matthews. Jo has years of experience working in the ambulance service and has spent the last year working in GP practice. She will be undertaking home visits, triage, consultations and will be helping to look after our more frail patients.

We also have a senior pharmacist, Rachel Nilsen. Rachel has experience of working in primary care and will be responsible for various aspects of patient care such as complex medication reviews and chronic disease management. 

Finally, we have a new GP, Dr Poorvie Hewa Pathiranage, who is doing one surgery a week. She is currently a partner in a practice in Borden, and will be increasing her number of surgeries later in the year. She is interested in all aspects of general practice, specialising in women's health and minor surgery. She is also involved in training junior doctors.  

Ask the pharmacist!

Many common illnesses can be treated at home. Ask your pharmacist for advice on the best medicines and treatments for minor ailments. PLEASE ASK FOR YOUR PRESCRIPTION IN GOOD TIME . ALLOW  48 HOURS/2 WORKING DAYS BEFORE COLLECTION (Electronic prescriptions only)) Paper prescriptions will take 3- 4 days. If you are using paper prescriptions, please consider signing up for the electronic service.

We are open for evening appointments every Wednesday until 8pm (Appointments for this clinic must be booked in advance).

Guidance for Patient Access – internet access to appointment booking, medication requests and messaging service

To register:

You can register for this service at the surgery or you can pre-register on line (this will allow you to book one appointment) and then complete your registration at the surgery. Be prepared to give some information that will identify you, e.g. formal ID, last medication or postcode & telephone number. You will be given a unique username and password.

On your computer, using your internet browser and the URL provided  below,  go to the online access website and follow the book appointment link once you have logged in.

You can now start using Patient Access!

Once logged in, you can book, view and cancel appointments, request repeat medications and also send a message to your doctor. You will also be able to view parts of your medical record.

When you book an appointment this way, you will receive confirmation immediately. There is no need to confirm it by phone or email – just make sure that you arrive promptly on the day!

Before you begin to use Patient Access we would appreciate it if you could read the following guidance regarding the booking of appointments over the internet.


This facility is for booking routine doctor appointments, appointments for blood tests and some nurse appointments. Due to the nature of nurse appointments we are unable to offer all appointments online.  Please ensure that you book your doctor appointments appropriately.

Please do not book appointments for the following: Nursing, Cryotherapy, Minor Surgery, Medicals, Post Natal or Ante Natal check up including 6 week mum and baby check, Coil fitting, Implants or Injections. If you are unsure do not book on line please contact us by emailing or messaging us via Patient Access.

Missed Appointments

Please let us know if you will be unable to attend an appointment that you have booked.  Either contact us by telephone to cancel or cancel it online.  This will allow us to offer the appointment to another patient. 

Repeat Prescriptions

Patient Access will give you a facility to send requests for REPEAT medication to the surgery.  We will still require 48 working hours to process requests.  You can monitor the progress of your request via Patient Access homepage.

Patient Access now gives the facility to view and print a list of your repeat medicines or appliances and any recorded allergies or adverse reactions.


You can message your GP with simple queries. This can be used instead of phoning us for example if you have a simple medication query, a query about any results, check if you need a review or blood test. This is a quicker way for us to respond to you.

Your Responsibility

The practice will take every measure to ensure that your Patient Access application is secure.  It is your responsibility to ensure that your Patient Access account remains secure.  You are able to terminate or reset your account any anytime by contacting the surgery in writing.  You may wish to do this is if you think someone else knows your logging in details or if you have shared details with a family member or partner and no longer wish them to know these details.

Please note the practice does not manage the Patient Access website and therefore cannot provide help with using the Patient Access.  Help screens are provided on the website.
